Ready or Not
Here I come
Ready or Not
Momma
You’re my only one, yea
I’ve been searching the skys, all
Over the heavens and moons
I got a rocket that fly’s, baby
Ready to meet you soon, yea
I ain’t looking for a fixer upper
Cause here I come
I ain’t looking for a fixer upper
Cause here I come
I ain’t looking for a fixer upper
Cause here I come momma
Come out, Come out da’lin’
Where ever you are
Where ever you are
A good planet is hard to find
A good planet
Show me where it’s at, yea
A good planet is hard to find
It’s real real hard, yea
Sometimes you only get one chance at a home
Sometimes your only taking a glance at where you roam
Leave unturned no stone
But the one you buried your bone
Got a fine toothed comb
It’s the only one I own
Can you tell me where’s it at baby?
Where’s it at
Where’s it at
Come out, Come out da’lin’
Where ever you are
Where ever you are
A good planet is hard to find
Chillin’ in the astronomical observatory
Yo big body planets, gotta be exploratory
Lookin’ up and down, takin’ down inventory
What’s up with your rocks can you tell me your story
Got game, kn’ I’m sayin’ got mad spectroscopy
Copy that Scotty, tell me all about your body
Starlight flashing like you being paparazzied
From what I can tell, your just my kinda hottie
A good planet’s hard to find
not be snotty, cause you know I like it wet
If i’m a step in that party
Woah!!!
A good planet is hard to find
It’s real real hard yea
Tony, Tony, turn around
A good planet is hard to find
Little Bo Bammet has lost her planet
And she doesn’t know where to find it
She flew to the stars
On the way to mars
Hoping that she wouldn’t mind it
A good planet is hard to find

I never read about my people
Made missions in 4th grade
With a steeple to ward off evil
But the teachers never emphasized
That it was the preachers with the evil eyes trying to evangelize
It’s not a surprise that I grew up feeling a part of me was uncivilized
They said we’re undisciplined
That we’re too loud and untimely without precision of Switzerland
Saw us in a group and they told us to disband
Ain’t even tryin’ to understand
Just stickin’ with their master plan
But we kept speaking truth and seeking knowledge of self
Cause we aren’t bout to fadeout
My uncle was a cobbler
I used to sit in his shop while my pop would chop it up
I couldn’t bother to eavesdrop
But would stare at the painting in the backdrop
Grandeza Azteca
Didn’t know tha meaning but it wasn’t like what I was seeing
Being a supreme being
When it was seeming my world wasn’t agreeing
Even had a part of me believing
That the legends were deceiving
Stories weren’t worth a reading
Thieving of our pride
Leaving us to hide our language
Let our culture die
But we kept speaking truth and seeking knowledge of self
Cause we aren’t bout to fadeout
I still wanna classic car
Grew up hearing stories of uncle drag racing in the East Bay
Back in the day he was a star
At least the way my family would say it
On Sundays sitting around the patio bar
While I play wit’ my cousins
I would smash beer cans by the dozens
Afterword, like a good grandson
When we had enough, we’d collect them all together
Run over to the recycling center
I can still remember
Cruisin’ on the leather in my grandfather’s ride
We don’t slide
Cause we keep speaking truth and seeking knowledge of self

Yo, check it out
Kimon is on the microphone
Who needs a drum set
Yea, he’s got his own
Man meets machine
Vocals they transform
Sounds process, transistors deform
Human made base and snare electrify
No need technology, cave painting is why
Prehistoric, Cenozoic instincts emerge
Habits of the past with presents they merge
Karma
Samsara
Fidelity to Dharma
I’ve been doing my yoga and I’ve been chanting my mantras
Following the path of knowledge and the path of devotion
I’ve even chosen the path of action so where’s my satisfaction
Cause I’ve come back as a tapeworm
Swimming in people blood
Splurging on intestines, testosterone is my drug
Strolling through the nervous system
T-cells give me a hug
Sleeping, keeping warm in fat tissue in which I dug
Taking dips in the kidneys, I call ‘em my jacuzzi
Flirting with an ovary, yea she’s such a floozie
Raving in the arteries the pulse hypnotizes
Surprises in the bloodstream from injections mesmerizes
Learning like a cannibal, devouring brain cells
Watching sperm meet egg, do I hear wedding bells
Devouring like a glutton
Stuck in the cast system
Damn I gotta find another religion
Punished for eating cows, maybe I’ll be a Muslim
But then I couldn’t eat pork, should I become a Christian
But without reincarnation, only one chance to get in heaven
Maybe I’ll be a Buddhist, it’s just about the same
Darn rules in religions, they’re driving me insane
Kimon on the beatbox
It’s a paradox
He locks his mouth
But
We got the orchestratic chat
We got sounds for the
Almighty
Golden doors are open, I see people knelling
Concentrating with their feeling is what’s beyond the ceiling
Taking a leap of faith through what is called free wheeling
Coming back as a salmon, swimming in the ocean
Reincarnate mind state, recycle, circle motions
Comin’ around, I be found
Beneath busy brooks
Swimmin’ around, I be found
Caught up in the nets
Of reality
Like Slick Rick
Running around with his Ballys
Beat box freeze

Massive thanks to Russell Sinfield for spending hours and hours mixing and mastering this EP, especially since he originally thought he was only mixing one song, lol! And thanks to taRka, Arkestar, Joerxworx, Bitzone, and Alex for all the inspiration, creativity, and energy you added to this track. You all made this track what it is!
I grew up on hip hop and have always been a hip hop musician first. Hip hop (and lo-fi indie rock) is the lens through which I always first approach making a song. After spending years listening to the music of our SoundCloud community, everyone's music has found a deep place in my heart. I believe that when hip hop artists first began sampling funk tracks in the 80s, it was out of love and respect for the music they grew up with and identified with. I now sample the music of my SoundCloud collaborators and friends to make new songs from those that I love. Tony Turn Around is a celebration of that process. It is a representation of the joy of sampling and the delight of playing around with cool sounds from musicians you respect and admire. I hope you all continue to enjoy what we have created as a community here on SoundCloud and Bandcamp!
This project is dedicated to the development of a more conscious, equitable, harmonious alternative to the destructive imperialist colonial neo-liberal capitalist consumer societies in power.
